What transfer duty means
Moving liquid from A to B
Transfer duty means emptying, filling or circulating: tank to tank, drum to process, sump to drain, supply to point of use. The pump adds enough pressure to cover lift, pipe friction and any back-pressure. The catalog frames are on the transfer product line page; this page is the buying guide behind them.
Neighbouring duties have their own guides
Raising pressure in an existing line is booster duty. Drawing groundwater is covered in the well pump guide. Wastewater with solids is covered in the sewage pump guide, and small drain-and-dewater jobs on the utility pump page.
Comparing the main pump types
General selection knowledge. Which types are in the catalog is stated further down.
Centrifugal
A spinning impeller throws liquid outward. It gives smooth, high flow for thin liquids at modest head and is simple and cheap to run. Performance drops as viscosity rises, and it needs flooded suction or priming.
Self-priming
A centrifugal variant that holds liquid in the casing and clears air from a dry suction line, so it can lift from a drum, pit or tank below the pump within its suction limit. Good for dirty water and site work.
Air-operated diaphragm
Compressed air moves two diaphragms. It runs dry, handles solids and abrasive slurry, and tolerates blocked discharge. Flow is pulsed and noisier. See the diaphragm pump guide.
Gear and rotary positive displacement
Meshing gears or rotors trap and carry fluid, giving steady flow for oils, resins and other viscous liquids. They need clean, lubricating fluid and a relief path, because they build pressure until something gives.
Progressive cavity and peristaltic
A progressive cavity pump gives gentle, steady flow for thick or shear-sensitive media. Tube pumps in the peristaltic hub suit metering and abrasive or corrosive fluids with no contact with the mechanism.
Submersible
The motor and wet end sit in the liquid, so there is no priming. Common for drainage and pits. For the sewage form see the submersible sewage pump page.
Flow, head, viscosity and suction
Flow and total head
Total head is static lift plus friction loss in suction and discharge pipes plus any pressure at the outlet. Quote flow at that head, in m³/h or GPM, and read the curve at the real operating point.
Viscosity and temperature
Thick liquids cut centrifugal flow and head sharply and raise motor load. Say the viscosity at the working temperature, not at room temperature.
Suction conditions
Flooded suction is the easy case. If the pump sits above the liquid, give the vertical lift and suction pipe length, because suction lift is limited and falls with temperature and altitude.
Solids and abrasives
Say the largest particle and how abrasive the fluid is. Small clearances and soft elastomers wear fast on grit.
Chemical compatibility, seals, materials and power
Wet-end materials
Cast iron suits clean water and oils. Stainless steel suits wash-down and mild chemicals. Plastics and lined parts suit stronger chemicals. Match the whole wet end, not only the casing.
Shaft seals
A mechanical seal is common but can leak on abrasive or dry-running duty. Seal-less magnetic-drive and diaphragm designs avoid the shaft seal. See the chemical and process line.
Elastomers
Gaskets, O-rings and diaphragms must suit the fluid. List every chemical and its concentration, because one wrong elastomer can end a pump quickly.
Power options
Single-phase or three-phase motors at 50 or 60 Hz, air-operated drives, or other drives on request. Special motors, such as explosion-proof, are quoted separately and need a duty sheet.

OrçamentoWhat the catalog covers
The transfer line lists centrifugal, self-priming, submersible drainage, multistage high-head and stainless transfer pumps. The chemical line lists an internal gear pump for oils and viscous liquids, and an air-operated diaphragm pump. Other types in the comparison above are general guidance and are quoted to the duty sheet. Details and photos are on the transfer product line page.
Two ways to buy
OEM and private label
Building a transfer range under your own brand? Start from a duty sheet. See Custom OEM for options and the private-label hub for housing, label and packaging.
Wholesale supply
Buying in crate lots for distribution or installation? The wholesale hub covers lots and spares. MOQ is quoted by SKU, not as a site-wide number.
Transfer FAQ
Do you sell to consumers?
No. This is OEM and wholesale supply for brands, distributors and contractors, with no cart and no public price. Send a duty sheet on the inquiry form.
Centrifugal or positive displacement?
Centrifugal pumps suit thin liquids at high flow. Positive displacement pumps keep flow steady against pressure and suit viscous or shear-sensitive fluids, but need a relief path.
How is this page different from the product line?
This is the buying guide. The product line page shows the actual catalog SKUs and photos.
What do you need to quote?
Fluid and temperature, flow and head, suction conditions, viscosity, materials and power supply. A short duty sheet is enough to start.
Which pump handles chemicals?
Seal-less magnetic-drive, diaphragm and lined designs are on the chemical line. Compatibility depends on every chemical in the fluid, so list them.
Can you private-label these or supply them wholesale?
Yes. OEM and private-label work is quoted from a duty sheet, and lots are quoted by SKU. See private label and wholesale.
