Peristaltic Pump Calibration & Dosing Metering Compare
B2B calibration and pulse-work notes for peristaltic pumps used in dosing — including variable-flow SKUs — plus a short metering vs peristaltic compare. Links to the dosing catalog and RFQ — no invented performance tables.
Product KnowledgeIndustrial buyers ask for repeatable dose volume, not lifestyle copy. This note covers calibration and pulse work for peristaltic pumps on the dosing line (including variable-flow SKUs), then a short compare with diaphragm pump and solenoid metering. It is not a medical or IV guide.

Calibration worksheet (plant floor)
- Warm up — Run the drive a few minutes with the process tube installed so rollers and tube settle.
- Timed catch — Divert outlet into a graduated cylinder or scale for a fixed time at a fixed RPM (or fixed pulse rate).
- Compute — Average volume ÷ time → flow; for pulse mode, average volume ÷ pulse count → ml/pulse.
- Lock set point — Write RPM or pulse rate, tube lot, and temperature on the skid sheet.
- Re-check — After tube change or long idle, repeat the catch. Displacement drifts with wear and wall set.
Formula-level reminder for continuous mode with a fixed tube/roller set: Q ≈ k × RPM. Confirm k on your lot — we do not publish a fake ml/rev table on the site.
Pulse / intermittent dosing
- Record dead volume in suction and discharge lines; short lines reduce lag.
- Prefer a check valve or anti-siphon where static head can drain the dose.
- Log pulse width and maximum pulses per minute so the controller cannot overshoot the day tank.
Metering pump vs peristaltic
| Need | Prefer metering (diaphragm / solenoid) | Prefer peristaltic (tube) |
|---|---|---|
| Higher discharge pressure | Often better match | Limited by tube rating |
| Known stroke volume | Stroke dial / stroke rate | Calibrate ml/rev or ml/pulse |
| Shear-sensitive fluid | Can be harsher | Gentler occlusion |
| Fast tube / head change | Head kit swap | Tube swap is usually faster |
| Chemical compatibility | Head / ball / seat kit | Tube polymer by fluid list |
Both live on the dosing & metering line; see the diaphragm pump hub for materials and a full diaphragm vs peristaltic comparison. Chemical transfer into the same skid is on chemical & process. Tube material is quoted from your fluid list — we do not invent corrosion-rate percentages here.
Safety (reviewable)
Copy is for industrial additive, water-treatment, and OEM transfer. No clinical, IV, sterile-fill, or drug-delivery claims. Operators follow your SDS and plant SOP.
RFQ checklist
Send fluid (or SDS), continuous vs pulse duty, target flow or dose volume, tube preference if known, voltage/control, MOQ, and ship-to on the inquiry form.
